Nexstar Media Group Names Jeffrey Guy Vice President and General Manager of Jackson / Hattiesburg, Mississippi Television and Digital Operations

Accomplished Broadcast Executive with 28 Years of Sales and Management Experience to Lead WJTV-TV (CBS), WHLT-TV (CBS), WJTV.com and WHLT.com

JACKSON and HATTIESBURG, Mississippi and IRVING, Texas (April 13, 2017) – Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Jeffrey Guy has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of CBS affiliates WJTV-TV / WHLT-TV, CW-affiliated subchannels and associated digital services under WJTV.com and WHLT.com serving Jackson, MS (DMA #95) and Hattiesburg-Laurel, MS (DMA #168). The appointment is effective immediately and Mr. Guy will report to Bill Sally, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting Inc.

Jeffrey Guy brings to his new role over two decades of expertise in local and national sales management, local programming and content, new business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms.  Prior to joining Nexstar, Mr. Guy served as General Manager of WBND-TV (ABC), WCWW-TV (CW) and WMYS-TV (MyNet) in South Bend-Elkhart, Indiana (DMA #96), where his initiatives focused on brand development, local content leadership and excellence in viewer and client experience led to consistent revenue share growth and enhanced profitability. During his 16-year tenure, he expanded local programming by developing new stations, digital subchannels and unique content partnerships with local sports franchises, including the University of Notre Dame. In addition, he directed the launch of the WBND-TV’s news programming, managing all aspects of local branding, creative development, news set construction and talent recruitment.

Prior to South Bend, Mr. Guy served as Vice President and General Manager of WBUI-TV (CW) in Champaign-Decatur-Springfield, IL (DMA #86) where he directed the station launch and quickly turned it into a profitable operation by developing highly effective teams and implementing sales, marketing and digital initiatives led to increased revenue and operational cash flow. In addition, he developed innovative content strategies and launched unique digital concepts that resulted in expanded audience reach and engagement. Before that, Mr. Guy held various management positions with TCI cable in Central Illinois. He began his broadcast career as an Account Executive in Decatur, IL where he was consistently recognized as one of the top performers among his peers.

Mr. Guy is a United States military veteran who has served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Naval Reserve. He has earned numerous awards for his community involvement including the U.S. Naval Reserve’s Meritorious Service Medal, The American Heart Association’s Leadership Award and the National MS Society Leadership Award, among other accolades. He has served as a Chair or Board Member on behalf of several community organizations including the American Cancer Society, Kelly Cares Foundation, Child and Parents Services (CAPS) and Coaches vs. Cancer. Notably, Mr. Guy is the Founding Chair of Notre Dame Head Basketball Coach Mike Brey’s “Men of Heart,” a local initiative in partnership with the American Heart Association to raise men’s heart heath awareness.

Mr. Guy, his wife and son will be relocating to the Jackson, MS community.
