Job Summary/Description:
Are you ready to lead an award-winning News Department? Are you ready to maintain our news staff’s reputation as the market leader? Are you ready to ensure that our staff of journalists remains relevant to our viewers? Do you have a vision for how local news will be shaped in the future? Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain market leading standards for newsroom operations and content.
- Hire, coach, supervise, and evaluate news personnel.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of newsroom budgets and capital requests.
- Work closely with other department managers to achieve the company's overall performance goals.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of community issues and needs, as well as sound journalistic principles.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of three years television news management experience.
- College degree in broadcast journalism preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have exceptional time management skills.
- Must have the ability to make fast, accurate journalistic, ethical, and logistical judgments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Professionally represent and support station, both in policy and demeanor.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
