More controversy involving CBS News.
60 Minutes abruptly cancelled a segment just three hours before its scheduled broadcast tonight, saying the story needed ‘additional reporting’. The topic: conditions at a prison in El Salvador to which the Trump administration is sending deportees. Correspondent SHARYN ALFONSI called the decision a political one, not a journalistic one, in an email to colleagues.

WSAW-TV, Wausaw, WI…JACOB WILSON takes his first ND job at this Gray Media owned CBS affiliate. He’s been the morning EP for Nexstar’s Indianapolis duopoly, WTTV/WXIN-TV (CBS/FOX). He’ll replace BRIDGET FARGEN who held the job for five years before departing in September to become ND for WMTV in Madison.

WYMT-TV, Hazard, KY…JOSH WHITE returns to this Gray Media owned CBS affiliate after three years working at marketing company. He’s a former ND for Gray’s KAIT-TV (ABC) in Jonesboro, AR, Josh has also worked in Evansville, Lexington, KY and other markets. He replaces JENNIFER PERKINS who chose to leave and will do so in February.

KDEN-TV, Denver, CO…GRISELLE SIERRA has left this Telemundo station after seven years as ND. This story from Media Moves quotes a source as saying her departure comes after an altercation with an anchor at the station.

STEVE ACKERMANN continues his tour of the country serving as an interim news director (when he’s not teaching at the University of North Texas-Denton, his full time job). He’s currently minding the store at Gray Media’s KKTV in Colorado Springs, following the departure of JOSH BARLOW who crossed the street to Nexstar’s KXRM-TV.
