LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - After several years as assistant news director and co-anchor of 7 News at 6, Jillian Corder has been named news director of KPLC.

As assistant director, Jillian worked on investigations, worked closely with reporters, and helped manage daily news operations.

Jillian joined KPLC in July 2015 after three years in Northeast Louisiana at KNOE in Monroe, where she was an anchor, reporter, and producer.

She has been honored by the Associated Press and Louisiana Association of Broadcasting for her reporting on stories from congressional scandals to the nation’s oldest veteran.

She was named LAB’s 2020 Young Professional of the Year for her work during Hurricane Laura. Jillian volunteered to stay behind when the station evacuated, giving viewers a live look at the damage as the sun rose the following morning.

Outside of news, Jillian and her husband host a travel podcast showcasing Southwest Louisiana and are busy chasing after their two toddlers.
