Greetings: A little more movement this week to share with you. There’s ONE new news director this week. And I’m not aware of any new openings, so our count of open ND jobs drops to 32. There’s ONE new Paid Help Wanted ad…a great opportunity for someone wanting to get into management. Greetings: As you might imagine in this unusual time, there was no movement among news managers and general managers this week. To my knowledge, NO news directors changed jobs this week. Greetings: FOUR people landed new news director jobs this week, and, as far as I know, there’s just ONE new opening. That means there are, by my count, 33 stations looking for a new news director. We have TWO paid help wanted ads, both from a station in West Virginia. There’s ONE obit for a longtime Texas news manager, TWO GMs on the move, and just TWO items in Names in the News…and I’m embarrassed to say one of them is a correction. Are you short staffed these days? Use Stringr to help procure video. Check out their ad below. [More]

BILL SIEGEL, who’s spent the last four years as senior director of content strategy for Scripps, is off to South Florida as General Manager for the company’s WSFL-TV in Miami-Fort Lauderdale. He’ll be hiring a news director and a complete staff to launch news on that CW affiliate. That probably means Bill has a lot of new friends this afternoon. 🙂 Here’s the news release with all the details. Bill’s a former ND for WWL-TV in New Orleans, [More]
