Greetings:
For the second week in a row, we have new ND openings to tell you about and no new NDs to share with you.
This week, FOUR new ND openings, resulting in, by my count, 24 stations looking for a news director.
In Names in the News, we’ll tell you about a former ND turned station manager who’s been bumped up to GM.
That and more after this week’s changes:
NEW NEWS DIRECTOR OPENINGS:
KXTV, Sacramento, CA…STACY OWEN has resigned as ND of this Gannett-owned ABC affiliate, where she’s been the news director since July, 2005. She’s also been an ND for KRON-TV in San Francisco.
KTVE/KARD-TV, West Monroe, LA…RANDALL KAMM has left this Nexstar-owned NBC/FOX duopoly after a little more than two years as ND. Randall also was an anchor here.
KTUU-TV, Anchorage, AL…STEVE MacDONALD has left the Schurz Broadcasting owned NBC affiliate after just six months as ND. Steve has worked for KTUU for more than a dozen years as a reporter and anchor before being promoted to ND last year.
KSAX-TV, Alexandria, MN…this Hubbard owned satellite station of KSTP-TV in Minneapolis is advertising for a new ND. My records show SARAH CASUELLO had been the ND there since June, 2007. The station airs three local news updates within KSTP’s news, and does not have a stand alone newscast.

NAME in the NEWS:
BYRON GRANDY has been promoted to GM of McGraw-Hill’s KMGH-TV in Denver. Bryon has been the station manager and acting GM since he was promoted from news director there last year. He’s also been an ND in San Antonio and Augusta, GA, and is a former consultant for Broadcast Image Group.
